KATHLEEN SHEEHY NAMED ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Effective May 2012, Kathleen assumed the mantle
from Richard Quesnel, outgoing Artistic Manager.
The ensemble decided to change the title to
"Artistic Director", which is more commonly used
and better reflects the scope of the position as we
go forward. Richard remains an active member of
the ensemble as Kathleen moves into the role.
While Kathleen will oversee most of the day to day details and serve as the public face for the company, the voice of the ensemble is still essential in artistic decisions.
"We are a group of working artists who can be found on stages other than our own: Drayton, Mirvish, The MT Space and several others. With schedules like ours, running every decision by the ensemble has become unwieldy as the company grows out of a project-by-project approach to a seasonal one. We felt the need to centralize and delegate to one of our number. The ensemble is giving me a lot of latitude, but I look to them to offer ideas and endorse artistic and programming choices. We will continue to have some very lively discussions!
